Disney World Abruptly Closes Villains Stage Show, All Guests Evacuated

A mid-show curtain drop at Disney’s Hollywood Studios caught an audience full of Disney Villains fans completely off guard on June 13. Unfortunately, Walt Disney World Resort guests in the theater never received a straight answer about why the evacuation occurred.

Mid-performance, the curtains fell, and a pre-recorded announcement came over the theater’s loudspeakers:

“Your attention, please. Due to unforeseen circumstances, this performance of Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After must be canceled. Please gather your belongings and exit the theater safely.”

Guests were ushered out without explanation. Disney cast members didn’t offer any information about what had caused the abrupt cancellation, leaving the audience to piece it together on their own.

What the Guest Thinks Happened

The Instagram user who filmed the evacuation had a theory, shared in the comments:

“Never found out why! I suspect there was an issue with mics because Cruella was kind of hard to hear but her segment was over when this happened so.”

However, Walt Disney World Resort made no public statement about the incident — consistent with how the Central Florida Disney destination typically handles temporary show and attraction closures on its property.

Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After was back on its normal performance schedule by the time of this report.
