Disney’s Hollywood Studios Shuts Down 3 Hours Early on June 18
A visit to Disney’s Hollywood Studios can feel packed from the moment guests walk through the gates. Between major attractions, live entertainment, dining reservations, and character encounters, there is rarely enough time to experience everything in a single day.
That’s why an upcoming schedule change could be important for anyone planning a visit on June 18.

While many guests expect a full day at the park, Disney’s Hollywood Studios will actually close several hours earlier than normal. Visitors who aren’t aware of the adjustment could find themselves scrambling to fit everything into a much shorter timeframe.
On June 18, Hollywood Studios will close at 6:00 p.m., three hours earlier than its standard 9:00 p.m. operating schedule. The park will still open as normal in the morning, but the day will end much sooner than guests may expect.
The reason for the shortened schedule is a private event. Following the departure of day guests, the park will host an exclusive gathering for attendees connected to a Society for Human Resource Management conference taking place in the Orlando area. Conference guests will have access to Hollywood Studios during a special evening event after the park closes to the public.

While Disney occasionally hosts private events across property, they don’t always result in a full park closing early. That’s one reason this adjustment stands out.
The timing is particularly notable because Hollywood Studios remains one of Walt Disney World’s busiest parks. Guests continue to flock to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, Toy Story Land, and attractions like Rise of the Resistance, Slinky Dog Dash, and The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror.
For visitors arriving later in the day, the schedule change could have a noticeable impact. Guests who typically enter around lunchtime or mid-afternoon may find themselves with far fewer hours to experience attractions before the park closes.
Wait times could also feel more concentrated throughout the day. Since everyone will be sharing a shorter operating window, some attractions may experience heavier demand than they otherwise would.

Dining plans are another consideration. Guests with meals planned inside the park should verify reservation times and make sure they fit comfortably within the revised operating schedule.
Fortunately, visitors still have plenty of alternatives once Hollywood Studios closes.
Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom are all expected to maintain their normal schedules. Many guests may decide to park hop later in the day, especially if they planned to spend an evening in the parks anyway.
Disney Springs could also become a popular destination for visitors looking to extend their night after leaving Hollywood Studios.

The key takeaway is simple: June 18 won’t be a normal day at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
Guests who arrive early, prioritize major attractions, and keep an eye on wait times should still be able to enjoy a productive visit. However, those expecting a typical closing time may want to rethink their plans before heading to the park.
As summer crowds continue building across Walt Disney World, being aware of operating hour changes can make a big difference in how smoothly a vacation day unfolds.
