‘Star Wars’ Duo Could Return in Brand-New Sequel Despite Low-Impact Debut
Star Wars continues to expand in unexpected directions, and one of its most intriguing modern entries is once again drawing attention.
Star Wars: Visions, the anthology series that launched on Disney+ in 2021, has become a standout corner of the franchise thanks to its standalone storytelling approach and bold visual anime styles. Across its three volumes, the series has featured a wide range of non canon stories that explore different corners of the galaxy far beyond the Skywalker saga.

A Fan-Favorite Star Wars Episode Remains Unresolved
Among the most discussed entries is “Lop and Ochō,” a Volume 1 episode that follows two sisters caught on opposing sides of an Imperial conflict.
The story introduces Lop, a Force-sensitive rabbit-like alien raised within a human family, and her adopted sister Ochō, who ultimately turns toward the Empire. But despite its emotional conclusion, the episode ended on a cliffhanger that has never been revisited in subsequent installments.
Volume 3 of Visions instead focused on continuing other fan-favorite shorts, including sequels to “The Duel,” “The Village Bride,” and “The Ninth Jedi,” leaving “Lop and Ochō” without closure. That decision has continued to fuel online discussion, particularly among viewers who felt the story had more to explore.

Earlier this year, unverified reports from industry insider Daniel Richtman (via The Direct) suggested that Lucasfilm is developing a fourth volume of Star Wars: Visions, although no official confirmation has been made. If greenlit, however, it would mark another opportunity for Lucasfilm to revisit unfinished anthology stories like “Lop and Ochō.”
Star Wars Fans Want a Sequel
Meanwhile, fans have continued to advocate for a continuation of the episode, with many pointing to the episode’s strong character work and emotional stakes.
On Reddit, one user wrote, “there’s enough story in this 20 min short for a full trilogy of films,” while another described it as their favorite entry in the entire first volume.
With the upcoming Star Wars: Visions Presents set to expand the anthology brand further on Disney+, speculation continues around whether overlooked episodes like “Lop and Ochō” could eventually receive follow-ups in either animation or live-action form.
For now, the story remains unresolved, but interest in its characters has not faded.
Star Wars: Visions volumes 1-3 are streaming on Disney+.
