Everything You Need to Know Before Riding Disney World’s Most Anticipated New Attraction
Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets opens to the general public at Disney’s Hollywood Studios on May 26. Cast member previews are already happening. Annual Passholder previews run May 21 through 23 with a virtual queue system through My Disney Experience. The demand surrounding this attraction has been significant enough to sell out Hollywood Studios park reservations on two of the three preview dates almost immediately after the announcement went public.
If you are riding during previews or on and after May 26 these six things are worth knowing before you get in line.

The Soundtrack Is Quieter Than You Think
The Electric Mayhem tracklist is one of the most anticipated elements of the new ride, and it delivers. But the volume runs lower than most guests expect, with the focus shifted more toward ride effects than the music itself. Five songs could play during your ride, including Song 2, Born to Be Wild featuring Camilla the Chicken, Love Rollercoaster featuring Jennifer Hudson and Questlove, Rock Rock Till You Drop featuring Def Leppard, and Walking on Sunshine featuring Kelly Clarkson. Listen actively from the launch sequence, or you might finish the ride unsure which song you got.

The Physical Ride Is Identical to the Original
The reimagining was completed in months, leaving no time for changes to the actual track or mechanics. Same route. The same inversions. And the same physical experience. If the Aerosmith version felt jerky to you, this version will too. Front rows tend to be noticeably smoother if that is a concern.
You Will Miss Things If You Are Not Paying Attention
The queue, pre-show, ride, and post-ride experience move quickly. Easter eggs and hidden details are everywhere, and the ride vehicle moves fast enough that you can blink and miss significant moments. The Statler and Waldorf animatronics near the end of the ride are the most notable example. They appear briefly, and they are gone. Start looking for details the moment you enter the building, not the moment the ride launches.

The Test Seat Is Hidden
A test seat is available, but it is not in an obvious location. You need to ask a cast member specifically, and they will escort you to a hallway between the boarding area and the ride exit. The seat dimensions are the same as the original ride. If fit is a concern, ask before you reach the boarding area.
The Chicken Exit Is in the Same Area
Guests who make it through the queue and pre-show and decide at the boarding area that they do not want to ride can exit without riding. Tell the cast member directing guests into rows that you do not wish to ride and they will direct you down the hallway to the exit. The Muppets queue and pre-show are genuinely worth experiencing on their own and the chicken exit has become a more popular option with this version for exactly that reason.
Single Rider Still Exists
The single-rider lane has carried over from the original attraction, with updated signage. Disney can close it at any time, and it may not be available immediately after opening. The same caveat applies here as it did with the original version. Single rider at Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster has not historically been a reliable way to beat the posted wait time, so monitor it rather than counting on it.
Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets opens May 26. Go in knowing these six things, and you will get significantly more out of the experience than the guests who do not.
