No, Disney bowed to the pressure exerted by their own ABC affiliates who are responsible for bringing in advertising REVENUE. The Kimmel suspension was first and foremost an economic decision. The fact that Trump and Carr agreed with the sentiments of Sinclair and NexStar helped mainly to muddy the issue. This is not about the First Amendment. Kimmel can say and believe what he wants but those comments have consequences- in this case, economic ones.

In this case the “dictator” would be the US $. When Sinclair and NexStar refused to air Kimmel’s show, there goes the ad REVENUE! Trump and Carr jumped into the controversy and caused an unnecessary distraction. But Disney’s decision was an economic one and had nothing to do with the 1st Amendment.
