Since Walt Disney World Resort is a popular tourist location during certain times of the year to help with crowd control, Disney adds special events to lower the crowds. Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, and Disney’s Hollywood Studios are no strangers to crowd control and events. One event that is supposed to help with massive crowds during the day is After-Hour Events.

After-Hours events are held after the Disney parks close and are ticketed events, so if guests want to stay later at Magic Kingdom, they will need an After-Hours ticket. These events are select days and select parks for the After-Hour events.

One major way that After-Hour events help guests is that they are an exclusive opportunity to experience the parks after dark, with shorter wait times, limited crowds, and special entertainment offerings.

Because of its exclusive nature, Disney After Hours events can occasionally reach capacity, leaving some guests disappointed and unable to secure tickets for their desired date. In the event that Disney After Hours sells out, Disney typically employs several strategies to manage guest expectations and ensure a positive experience for all.

I am a writer and a Mom to four children and two baby shih-tzus. My first experience with the Magic was in 1988, when my parents surprised my brother and me with a visit to Walt Disney World after a short trip to see friends in Georgia. I still hum the tune played during the Main Street Electrical Parade and remember the feeling of excitement from my very first visit. I introduced my husband to the Magic several years ago, and we take our children to the parks every time we can. No matter how many times I visit Walt Disney World, it seems it’s not enough! The ever-changing experience only gets better with each trip, and I’m thrilled to share the Magic with others, as well as some of the tips and tricks to getting the most out of the Magic with each visit!
