7. The Threat is Brief
However, statistically speaking, major hurricanes in Central Florida tend to occur in August or September, when the heat in the Atlantic Ocean is at its peak. Storms may still pop up at any time (you can’t exactly tell a hurricane to go away because it’s not in season!), but narrowing the threat to a two month length still seems scientifically responsible.
