8 Fun Finds at Walt Disney World's Epcot

The Pearl Factory

7. Pick a Pearl in Japan

If you venture over to the Japan pavilion in the World Showcase and head into the enormous Mitsukoshi Department Store, you may notice a large-but-shallow tabletop water tank. This is the Pick-a-Pearl station, and it offers one of the more unique experiences in WDW.

The way it works is, you purchase a pearl ticket from any register in the store (about $17 USD). When your turn comes, you get to select an oyster from either tank at the Pick-a-Pearl station. The employee there will open the oyster, and any pearl found inside is yours to keep! You can take the pearl alone, or if you're willing to pay extra, it can be set in a piece of jewelry.

Whichever way you go, the employees go a long way to make the experience as fun and memorable as possible.
