1. Fantasmic! (The amphitheater, just off Sunset Boulevard)
Hands down, there’s simply no show like Fantasmic! At Disney’s Hollywood Studios. This 30-minute show takes place on select nights (weather permitting), and FastPass+ is available for this amazing spectacle. Seating begins 90 minutes before show time and fills up quickly. You have to see Fantasmic! to believe how Disney uses pyrotechnics, laser lights and one million gallons of water, among other effects, to bring Sorcerer Mickey’s dream to life. It begins with characters from many beloved Disney films, like Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, The Little Mermaid and others.
All is well until the Evil Queen from Disney’s Snow White shows up and turns Mickey’s dream into a nightmare. She brings with her other villains, including Ursula the Sea Witch and Cruela de Vil. Sleeping Beauty’s Maleficent makes an appearance as well, and in an enormous and terrifying way. Sorcerer Mickey saves the day as he takes back control of his dream, and the villains are defeated.
The final scene of the show is well worth the wait as Steamboat Willie steers a big riverboat, and 50 different beloved characters (some you can’t see anywhere else in the parks) sing, dance and wave to Guests in the amphitheater. Don’t miss this show that’s sure to be enjoyed by the entire family, and reserve your FastPass+ time for it so you can be sure to see it, and hopefully from a good seat!
