4 Disney Planning Secrets Nobody Shares- Until Now!
You have finally decided to head to Walt Disney World for the big family vacation. Decisions have been made about when you are going and even where to stay at Walt Disney World. The family has started to watch videos, enjoyed talking about goals, and a slight overall plan has been created. So you are ready to rock your vacation- possibly.
There are a few planning secrets that only some know about when it comes to vacations at Walt Disney World. We are going to change that for you today. There are four planning secrets that no one talks about or shares but are essential. By sharing them with you, we hope your Walt Disney World vacation will be even more magical by sharing these with you.
Walt Disney World is Big, Really Big
We know that you have probably heard that Walt Disney World is big, but have you taken the time to process exactly how big it truly is? Overall, Walt Disney World is almost 40 square miles making it close in size to cities such as San Francisco. With four central Theme Parks, two water Parks, Disney Springs, golfing options, and over thirty onsite Resorts, Walt Disney World is truly a city all on its own.
So what does this mean for your Walt Disney World vacation? It means that you aren’t quickly getting from one place to another. Transportation and traveling around Walt Disney World takes time. As you make your overall plans, consider the layout of Walt Disney World and the transportation options.
Think about the best ways to utilize your time so you aren’t jumping from place to place and wasting precious time in the Parks. Always plan extra time when traveling around Walt Disney World. Because there are so many people visiting, delays happen. Don’t add stress to your vacation by scheduling experiences that cause you to be constantly moving from place to place.
Look over the map of Walt Disney World to get a better idea of where everything is located. Use that to help you think about your plans. Hopping between EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios makes much more sense than Disney’s Animal Kingdom and Magic Kingdom. Think through what you hope to do, and then figure out how to accomplish those goals most efficiently.
Be aware of how massive Walt Disney World is so you can plan accordingly and avoid frustration when things take a while.
You Can’t Do It All
As you plan your Walt Disney World vacation, everyone you talk to probably has suggestions on what you “have to” do while visiting. Even though it is nice to get suggestions from others, be aware that you won’t be able to see and do it all.
As we have already discussed, Walt Disney World is huge, and that alone will prevent you from seeing and doing everything. On top of how big Walt Disney World is, there are so many experiences within the four Disney Parks that you can’t experience all those in one trip.
Go into your trip knowing and being okay with the fact that some experiences might not happen on this trip. Take time to determine your top five experiences daily and focus on ensuring those are accomplished. Then everything else is a bonus.
Don’t think that you will get to see and do everything. Not only is it impossible, but it also is not a fun way to experience Walt Disney World. You will miss a lot of magic by trying to do Disney that way.
Having Rest Time is Essential
Most will focus on planning what they see and do in the Parks, but don’t forget to plan rest time. Walt Disney World is magical but also a lot of work. Make sure that you schedule a time to rest.
Consider taking an afternoon off from the Parks and enjoying your Disney Resort. Plan a pool day where you skip the Parks and enjoy the pool, activities, and maybe even a nap.
Time to rest throughout a Disney trip is just as important as all the rides and attractions you will experience. Without slowing down, you will cause a lot of stress and frustration as everyone starts to get worn down. Don’t forget to plan rest time as you plan each day.
Disney Isn’t Isolated
When packing for Walt Disney World, it can be easy to think you must fill one of everything. This isn’t the case. Walt Disney World isn’t isolated from the rest of the world, so if you forget something, either Disney will have it for you, or you can find it nearby.
We have a list of five items you never need to pack for Walt Disney World HERE, so check that list out as you begin to pack. If you need medicine or forget diapers or sunscreen, Disney has first aid centers (baby care centers) throughout the four Theme Parks. These areas have essential over-the-counter items and items parents might need for their little ones.
Don’t think you must pack one of everything when getting ready for Walt Disney World. Disney has a lot of essential items, and you can often find things in the Resorts or Parks if you really need something.
