1. Short Wait Times
When the crowds leave after fireworks, the park is all yours, which includes enjoying your favorite rides again and again! Hop on your favorite ride back to back, jump in line for rides you weren’t able to get a FastPass+ for, and just enjoy 25 of your favorite attractions without dealing with lots of other people. Wait times are typically five minutes or less, which is unheard of at Walt Disney World!
2. Character Opportunities
It wouldn’t be Disney without your favorite characters making an appearance – even after hours! Meet and get autographs from your favorite characters, including some of the Disney Princesses at Princess Fairytale Hall and more! Enjoy interacting with characters without waiting in long lines, and get some fun, nighttime photo ops along the way.
3. Available During the Busiest Park Season
Magic Kingdom After Dark tickets are available for 11 special nights from June through September, which are some of the busiest months of the year for Walt Disney World. If you’re concerned about Magic Kingdom crowds during the day, relax at your resort for the day, then head to the park at night to take advantage of the after hours perks!
4. Three Hours of Fun
Magic Kingdom After Dark lasts for three hours after the park closes, which gives you and your family plenty of time to enjoy the park! During a regular park day, you spent more time in line and less time enjoying your favorite rides, but in three hours, you can do the opposite. Whether you prefer to rush from ride to ride or want to take things a little slower, you can accomplish so much in that amount of time!
5. Snack and Drink Service
Even though most of the restaurants and quick service counters close after regular park closing, a few areas stay open just for Magic Kingdom After Dark guests. Enjoy popcorn, ice cream, and select bottled beverages at special stands during your time in the park, all of which are included with the price of admission.
6. The Peace and Quiet
There’s something different about being in such a lively theme park after hours – it’s much quieter. If you’re not big on rides, but still want to enjoy the theme park, just walking around and soaking up all the intricate details in the park can be just as fun. You may even discover some new things that you normally wouldn’t pay attention to on a crowded day!
7. Fun for Adults
Magic Kingdom After Dark occurs between 10 p.m. and 1 a.m. or 9 p.m. and midnight depending on the day. Normally, kids are in bed before these hours, so this is a perfect opportunity to get out and enjoy the parks without toting the kids around! This is especially fun for couples on their honeymoon or adults traveling together who want the Disney experience without taking care of kids along the way.
8. Discounts for DVC and Annual Passholders
If you are a Disney Vacation Club member or an Annual Passholder, enjoy discounted rates on after hours tickets! Discounts certainly help, especially at Walt Disney World, so look into an after hours evening for a special occasion or just because! This is one more perk of being part of one of these groups!
9. Fantastic Photo Ops
Want to snap the perfect family photo without another family (or two) standing behind you? With Magic Kingdom After Dark, you can get that iconic family photo and more! Photos can be even more special with Cinderella Castle lit up in the background!
10. Get Help from Cast Members
Even though the park is open after hours, plenty of cast members are on hand to help you out with anything you need! Ask questions, make conversation, and get to know the cast members you find throughout the park.
11. The Extra Special Disney Magic
The Magic Kingdom is a special place during any point of the day, but there’s something even more magical about being there at night. When there aren’t as many crowds, everything is lit up, and you can enjoy more of the park, that special Disney magic is there with you.
