10 Ways To Get The Most For Your Money At WDW Resort Hotels

There’s just something about boarding Disney’s Magical Express, riding through central Florida, and stopping in front of your Disney Resort, like you’re Annie seeing the Warbucks’ mansion for the first time. Then hearing “welcome home” as you approach the lobby. There’s nothing quite like staying at a Disney World resort. But if you’ve done any research about Disney World Resort hotels, then you know they don’t come cheap. On the other hand, they are worth every penny, if you make the most out of them. Lucky for you, we have a list here of how you can get the most for your money at Disney World resort hotels.

10. Stay Longer

If you ever notice that when you go to price your vacation on the Walt Disney World website, the nightly rates get cheaper the more days you stay. This also is true for park tickets. So, if you usually take two trips a year, combine them into one extra long trip. You might end up saving some serious bucks.

9. Take advantage of all the Amenities

Each Disney resort has tons and tons of amenities. Some have spas, some have gyms, and some have kid’s programs. Make sure you take advantage of everything your resort has to offer. This way you aren’t just paying to sleep.

8. Spend Lots of Time at the Resort

With all of the amenities offered at your resort, it makes it easy to spend hours there without getting bored. I find that it’s easier to spend the money on a resort knowing you are going to spend a lot of time there.

7. Pull Your Resources

This can mean many different things. Sometimes when you book with a travel agent, they offer discounts. There are also companies that sell timeshare points from Disney timeshare owners at a fraction of a price. Also, try traveling in groups. If you stay in a villa that sleeps around 8 people, you can split the cost between families. This way you don’t have to pay for everything yourself and you can get a nice family trip out of it!

6. Always Consider Value and Moderate Resorts

Disney’s deluxe resorts are great. They’re stunning, in fact. But that doesn’t mean moderate or value resorts aren’t either. If you’re looking for sophisticated elegance, try Port Orleans Riverside or French Quarter. If you’re looking for something fun and kid-friendly, try Disney’s Art of Animation or Disney’s Pop Century Resort. All are reasonably priced and nothing short of amazing.

5. And the Cabins at Fort Wilderness

Aside from the typical moderate and value resorts, there are also cabins located at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort. These are usually very well priced and offer a full kitchen, living room, and separate bedroom.

4. Find the Best Room for your Needs

Booking the wrong type of room can end up costing you more money than you need to spend. If you are only planning to sleep in your room, then there’s no reason to pay for a suite or villa. But if you want to cook and eat in your room, then you may need to book a room with a full kitchen, like a villa or cabin.

3. Ditch the Rental Car

If you are staying on Disney property, there really isn’t a reason to rent a car. Rental cars can end up costing you hundreds of dollars. Save the money and use Disney transportation.

2. Visit During Value Season

It’s cheaper to visit during certain times of the year than others. Plain and simple. Do your research and if possible, visit during off seasons. Avoid holidays, summer breaks, and spring breaks at all costs.

1. Wait for a Special

Disney is great with their deals and specials. Sometimes they offer unique offer codes that can get you things like percent off or free dining. They also usually have specials for the season. You just have to keep checking and stay up-to-date.

So, just like I have mentioned many times, Disney resorts are so wonderful, but you have to know what you want. Many people think that Disney vacations are out of reach, but if you plan correctly and figure out what you need, they can actually be very doable.
