10 Things We Love Doing at Our Disney Resort

We love staying at a Disney Resort during our Walt Disney World vacations as they are part of the Disney magic. There is so much that these outstanding Resorts have to offer Guests during their vacations.

We have ten things we love to do at our Disney Resort, and we are sure you will love them too.

10. Swim

Swimming is one of our favorite things to do at our Disney Resort. It doesn’t matter what Resort we choose to stay at; we always enjoy the pools. This is a great place to start and end our Disney vacations. Kids love swimming in the fantastic pools, and as adults, we enjoy taking a moment to breathe.

During the afternoon, our kids love participating in Cast Members’ entertainment at the feature pools. From trivia to games, no matter what age our kids are, they have a great time with other kids each visit.

Since this is always a must-do for our kids during our vacation, we schedule pool time throughout our trip.

9. Play

The pools aren’t the only areas where our kids love to hang out. You can often find playgrounds, volleyball nets, and ping pong near the main pools. These are so much fun and an excellent way for kids to run off some energy.

As our kids have gotten older, they have a lot of fun meeting other kids and starting fun games together. What a great skill for them to work on!

If you have little ones, look for the playground at your Resort. Most Moderate and Deluxe Resorts have a small play area that can be perfect for little ones to enjoy. They also often have splash areas. These are going to be more little kid-friendly than the big, feature pools might be.

8. Explore

Exploring a new Disney Resort is a fun adventure. We enjoy discovering all the hidden areas that the Resort has to offer. We enjoy walking around the Resort to discover where the pools, dining, and entertainment are all located.

When checking in, ask about any scavenger hunts or hidden Mickeys that can be discovered around the Resort. These are fun ways to learn more about your Disney Resort and have fun together.

7. Enjoy Meals

Some of the best dining experiences at Walt Disney World are found at Disney Resorts. We enjoy taking time during our Resort stay to enjoy the dining options. Many outstanding dining options shouldn’t be missed, from a quick drink at the pool bar or lounge to a nice, sit-down meal after a long day. Take time during your vacation to explore and enjoy the delicious options at your doorstep.

6. Rentals

If you are staying at a Disney moderate or deluxe Resort, you can often find different rental items. From mikes and boats, something is exciting to enjoy. Consider a bike ride around Crescent Lake or a boat rental that will get you out on the Seven Seas Lagoon.

If you are really into outdoor activities, look into all the offerings at Fort Wilderness. Here you can experience a wide variety of activities all at the Resort.

5. Shop

It wouldn’t be a Disney trip without shopping. We find it fun to walk through the shop at our Disney Resort. It is fun to discover what Resort-specific items can be located and other hidden treasures. Grab a souvenir specific to your Resort to help keep those memories alive when you return home.

4. Campfires and Movie Under the Stars

We love two activities at Disney Resorts: campfire smores and Movie Under the Stars. These happen most evenings, but I always check to make sure. You can purchase s’more items from most gift shops and roast them by the campfire.

Once the sun has set, Guests can enjoy a snack while watching a Disney movie under the stars. This is a fun way to wrap up an evening relaxing together.

3. Sleep

It might seem silly, but we enjoy sleeping at our Disney Resorts. Ensuring everyone is rested at Disney is critical to a successful day in the Park. We ensure that we take time for naps and early bedtimes when needed.

2. Perks

When staying at a Disney Resort, we take advantage of the perks of that stay. You can access reduced-priced magic bands via the My Disney Experience app, free transportation, and early entry to all four Disney Parks by staying at a Disney Resort.

Those staying at a Disney Deluxe Resort can also take advantage of extending evening hours. Make sure that you take advantage of these perks when you stay at a Walt Disney World Resort Hotel.

1. Special Activities

Finally, we make sure we enjoy any special activities that might be happening at our Resort during our stay. When checking in, ask for an events guide to see what will occur during your stay. Disney Resorts always has something fun, from crafts and games to scavenger hunts and movies. Often Guests miss out on these because they are at the Park. We recommend slowing down one day to get the whole Disney Resort magic experience truly.

The Resorts at Walt Disney World are part of the magic. They provide unique themes that continue to transport Guests into magical lands. From favorite movies to relaxing tropical getaways, Disney has Resorts for everyone.

During your next stay at a Disney Resort, take advantage of these top ten things we love to do. They will help you get the most out of your Disney Resort and truly appreciate all it offers.
