10 Rookie Mistakes People Make At Disney's Animal Kingdom Park

Sign Animal Kingdom Park

While Disney’s Animal Kingdom has never had the cult-following like The Magic Kingdom or EPCOT, it has always been a Walt Disney World gem since its premiere in the 90s. However; despite its variety of entertainment, attractions, and dining options, it was a half-day park for most guests until summer 2017. When the park was in its “half day” state, guests could stroll in at their leisure with minimal preparation. Since the Pandora: World of Avatar land has opened, everything has changed. To ensure that you are getting the most out of your AK visit, we have compiled a list of mistakes that should be avoided at all costs.

10. Not Staying the Whole Day

Like we already mentioned, guests used to be able to cover AK highlights and leave the park by 4:00 p.m. Thanks to the park expansion, additional restaurants, and the brand-spanking new nighttime spectacular (Rivers of Light), you must carve out one full day from your schedule. Give yourself the time to thoroughly enjoy all of the new offerings and classic attractions. Whatever you do, just take things at a comfortable pace. Revel in the fact that AK has more to offer than ever before.

9. Not Rope-Dropping Pandora: World of Avatar

This new land has already won over the hearts of many with its awe-inspiring scenery and next-level Imagineering attractions. There is only one problem. This area can get extremely crowded and wait times can be staggering for those who couldn’t score a FastPass+ for the rides. To lessen the blow, make it a point to hit up this land as soonas the park opens. Since lines/crowds will increase throughout the day, the earlier you arrive, the better you’ll be. Just don’t let the hordes of visitors scare you. This gorgeous expansion is not one to miss.
