10 Fun Facts About Disney's Polynesian Village Resort

Trader Sam's Grog Grotto

9. Signature Tastes

Here’s a little food for thought. The Polynesian also dishes up a variety of signature selections in food and drink. One taste bud tantalizer that has many pining for pineapple is the famed Dole Whip. While the Magic Kingdom’s Aloha Isle has been deemed the longtime go-to place for this decadent dessert, many don’t realize that it’s offered right on location at the Polynesian’s own Pineapple Lanai as well. Unlike the Magic Kingdom, you can even get an exclusive alcohol variation of this well–loved tropical favorite. Another Polynesian palette-pleaser is Tonga Toast. Offered at both Kona Café and Captain Cook’s, this is the only Disney resort where you can find it. The newly opened Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto also offers plenty of resort exclusives, including specialty cocktails like the Nautilus, Polynesian Pearl, Tahitian Torch, the Dark and Tropical Stormy, and the Castaway Crush. And then there are also unique dining events too, like the one-of-a-kind Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show and Ohana’s Best Friends Breakfast with Lilo, Stitch, and friends.
