10 Fan-Favorite Resorts Around Disney World Resort

Fort Wilderness Campsites

Camping

Last on our list is the one and only camping option on Disney property. While it might seem strange to camp during a Disney vacation, thousands of people do it each year and complaints are few and far between. Depending on whether you choose to stay in a tent, RV, or cabin, this is the cheapest way to stay on property, and thanks to the many Disney amenities, you won't be roughing it at all.

Fort Wilderness Campground

Fort Wilderness is a magical place with a cult-like following. Campers make themselves at home in this enormous resort, and the laid-back vibe of the place lends itself well to truly relaxing.

The resort includes a main pool with a slide, as well as a smaller pool. Mickey's Backyard Barbecue gives guests a chance to dine with characters, while the ever popular Hoop Dee Doo Musical Revue is the perfect chance to get in some good laughs while you chow down.

Of course, more traditional camping fun such as campfires and pony rides are also an option. In fact, this resort is so exciting, you might find yourself wanting to hang around there rather than visiting the parks.
