1. Tree of Life
You can’t “literally” skip the Tree of Life as it is the large, park icon, that you’ll see as soon as you make your way through Discovery Island on your way into the park. What guests do miss however are some of the details on the tree itself. Whether you’re gazing at it from a distance, or up close to the roots in the queue for It’s Tough to be a Bug, take the time to notice all of the details of the over 300 animals that have been carved into the tree. If you happen to be in Disney’s Animal Kingdom after dark, be sure to spend some time in front of the tree to catch one of the Tree of Life Awakenings. These performances are magnificent, and while they do not occur at set times they are worth seeing if you’re in the area.
