4. Creature Comforts—Discovery Island
The “Discovery Island Trails” are pathways around the “Tree of Life” which gives guests a way to get a close up view of all the animals carved into this impressive centerpiece of Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Near the “Tree of Life” is the “Creature Comforts Bakery and Coffee Shop” featuring “Starbucks” Coffee. This is no ordinary “Starbucks”. It is a stunning African-themed coffee shop serving “Starbucks” Coffee, specialty drinks, Disney baked goods, and LaBoulange pastries (famous San Francisco Pastry Shop). The colorful African décor and furnishings combined with the aroma of freshly brewed coffee creates the atmosphere and sensation of being in an African Village. In addition to the classic coffee choices, check out the specialty cupcakes, like the Cotton Top Tamarin Cupcake, Tree of Life Cupcake, and the Zebra Cupcake. The rest of the menu is pretty much like you will find at any other “Starbucks”, but without the impressive African theme.
