When the short premiered in 1983, it was not only the first Mickey Mouse cartoon in 30 years, but also the first appearance of a new Mickey. It was the first time voice actor Wayne Allwine played the character. Allwine voiced Mickey from 1983 until his death in 2009, which made him the actor with the longest claim to the role. Allwine voiced Mickey in everything from House of Mouse to the Kingdom Hearts series of video games.
