6. Pirates of the Caribbean
Pirates of the Caribbean is such an iconic ride for the Disney parks that many guests think it’s been around since Magic Kingdom’s opening day, when in fact it opened 2 years later. And these many decades later, the attraction is as popular as ever thanks in large part to the successful film series of the same name. The ride overlay that added Captain Jack Sparrow as well as Captain Barbossa to the ranks of the animatronic pirates was controversial for many Disney purists but only served to increase the ride’s appeal for most other guests. Whichever version of the attraction that you prefer, Pirates of the Caribbean is a cornerstone of the Adventureland experience and one we hope will be around forever – in any form!
