6 Expectations Walt Disney World Has of its Employees

Cast Members

3. Be in character when ‘on stage’

Disney refers to their employees as Cast Members, making them part of the ‘show’ that is Walt Disney World, Disneyland and every other Disney park. When you’re out and visible to guests, you are considered ‘onstage.’ Because you are part of the cast, this means that whenever you’re onstage, you have to be in character. This is why each area of the parks has different costumes and different themed greetings/language—to immerse the guest and make it feel real. Your part in the show is very important, so you have to take it seriously!
