10 Tips and Secrets About Disneys Polynesian Village Resort

You can enjoy all atmosphere and beauty of Hawaii on the grounds of Walt Disney World Resort in Florida. Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort is a jewel of a resort that will sweep every guest away in the magic of Aloha! Here are 10 tips and secrets about Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort.

10. The Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show is A Crowd Pleaser.

The Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show is a family favorite.  Children and adults alike enjoy the music, dancers, entertainers and bottomless food available at Spirit of Aloha.  Situated in the heart of Disney’s Polynesian Village, this show needs to me on every family’s Disney must do list.

9. The Polynesian Village is an Original Walt Disney Resort.

The Polynesian is a staple of Walt Disney Word because it was built and opened simultaneously with The Magic Kingdom in 1971.  With views of The Magic Kingdom, luxurious rooms and an incredible pool this resort is as iconic and traditional Disney as you can get.  You need not let the age of the resort fool you, Disney has done an incredible job renovating the resort to help it stay comfortable and current while preserving the nostalgia we love.

8. The Resort was Inspired By Walt Disney’s Travels.

The early Disney True-Life Adventure Series documentary films featured animals from around the world that Walt filmed during his travels.  Some of his favorite travel destinations were in the tropics.  The ideas for a Tahitian Village resort design that centered around a great ceremonial house was inspired by real adventures.

7. Lilo and Stitch Mingle With Guests At The Resort.

The Polynesian was always a fun place for guests to relax but it became even more special when it was cast as a backdrop for a beloved Disney film.  Lilo and Stitch have their adventures in Hawaii and often show up at The Polynesian to meet guests at character dining experiences.

6. Speaking of Lilo, Kids can Join In the Fun at Lilo’s Playhouse.

Children can have even more Lilo and Stitch themed fun at Lilo’s Playhouse at The Polynesian. This kids care club is a great way for children to have a fun evening with cast members while parents have an evening to themselves enjoying dinner or playing in the park.

5. The Polynesian Village Underwent An Overhaul Last Year.

There are more reasons than ever to love The Polynesian now that the bungalow renovation is complete.  This new Disney Vacation Club Property features Bungalows that over look Seven Seas Lagoon and are quite literally in the heart of Walt Disney World.  The opening of Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto was yet another exciting addition to the resort that happened in 2015. Guests can drop in with Trader Sam to enjoy a tropical themed cocktail that comes with a story, expertly themed restaurant and fun cast members that enhance the experience. Think The Jungle Cruise meets Tiki Room meets The Polynesian Village; this is one Walt Disney World bar you will not want to miss.

4. The Resort Will Soon Be the Home of A New Disney Princess.

With Disney buffs everywhere awaiting the arrival of Disney’s newest princess, Mona we cant help but think about all the fun possibilities The Polynesian will have to incorporate this Pacific Islander Disney princess into the resort theming. The film will be released in 2016; a surge in popularity could result in rooms at The Polynesian being in even higher demand.

3. There Is No Shortage Of Delicious Food At the Resort.

A short browse over any Disney dining blog is sure to yield quite a few dining recommendations located in The Polynesian.  Tonga Toast from Kona Café, a refreshing Lapu Lapu from Tambu Lounge, Hawaiian Pork Nachos from Captain Cooks and the bottomless Hawaiian feast at Ohana are just a few of the incredible dining options at The Polynesian.  Even guests that are not staying at The Polynesian should venture over to sample the dining options at this resort.

2. The Beach Provides Some Pretty Incredible Nighttime Entertainment.

The beach that borders Seven Seas Lagoon on the side of The Polynesian is an attraction all its own.  Boating, fishing and beach lounging opportunities are abundant.  Night makes the beach even more magical as the electrical water parade floats past the beach and fireworks erupt over the nearby castle.  Movies on the beach provided by the resort are a low key way to enjoy an evening in at The Polynesian.

1. There Is No Better Resort for Tropical Relaxation.

My favorite way to channel the tropics from the comfort of Florida is by staying at The Polynesian.  Palms, ferns, glistening pools, a waterside volcano, luxurious rooms and incredible entertainment are all major selling points at Disney’s Polynesian Resort.
