10 Benefits Guests Enjoy When Staying At A Walt Disney World Resort

Grand Floridian

Staying at a Disney World Resort Hotel makes your entire Disney vacation so much easier. In addition to the exceptional customer service provided by Cast Members, guests have a number of amenities to make their trip more relaxing, more like home, and as care free as possible. Here are some great ways to benefit from Disney’s services.

10. Free Transportation

By staying at the Disney Resort, guests have access to buses, monorails, and boats that provide transportation from their hotel to the parks, water parks, Downtown Disney, and other locations on property. Before you arrive at your hotel, guests also have the option of choosing Disney’s Magical Express bus service from the Orlando International Airport to bring them to their hotel. Your checked luggage is even transported for you.

9. Free WiFi

Disney guests also have access to free WiFi throughout the Disney property. Whether you’re at your hotel or at the parks, you’ll be able to connect free of charge and save on your data usage. This also allows you to freely use the Disney My Experience App as often as you want and get a strong signal.

8. Pools and Hot Tubs

Each Disney resort comes with at least one pool and the Moderate and Deluxe Resorts come with hot tubs. Conveniently located around the hotel property, guests can relax by the main pool which also offers a number of activities for kids on a daily basis and plays music. There are also poolside bars located near the main pools for adults to enjoy.

7. Child Care Services

For parents who want to spend some time on their own to enjoy fine dining or a show their children may not be interested in, or too young for, each Disney hotel offers child care services on property. Enjoy the parks on your own and relax knowing your children are being looked after. Options include in-room babysitting or dropping your kids off at an activity center, depending on the hotel you stay at.

6. Laundry Services

If you like to pack light and reuse your clothing for another day, then you’ll be happy to know on-site laundry services are available at each hotel. Washers and dryers are open for public use and dry cleaning services can be handled by Cast Members. This amenity is also great for when you get caught in a rain storm and just need the use of the dryer for a while.

5. Complementary Parking

At the Disney parks you have to pay for parking, but at each hotel, parking is free. If you’re driving to your hotel, you can still leave your car there and take advantage of the free Disney transportation system mentioned above.

4. Merchandise Pick Up and Delivery

By being a guest at a Disney Resort Hotel, you can have select purchases delivered to your hotel instead of having to carry them around with you. Usually packages can be picked up at the checkout counter in your hotel’s gift shop. You’ll need to allow up to 24 hours for delivery. If it’s your last day, the delivery service won’t be available. Also, alcoholic purchases, like wine from Epcot, can only be delivered to the entrance of the park and will not be sent to your hotel.

3. Online Check-In

Hotel guests have the option of checking into their resort before they even arrive on property. Through the online check-in service, you can provide your credit card and other details you’d normally give at the front desk. This can speed you check-in time and get you to the parks faster.

2. Airline Check-In

Depending on which airline you use, Cast Members are able to check you into your flight which will save you time at the airport. They can also check your bags for you, even if it’s hours before you flight takes off. Cast Members will also hold your carry-on bags so you can check out of your room on your last day, but still enjoy the parks. When you’re ready, just collect your things and prepare for your flight.

1. Mail Services

The concierge at each Disney Resort Hotel also doubles as your mail drop off station. Send post cards to friends and family, or send a package, by dropping them off here. While most of us resort to social media or smartphones to send messages and pictures, it’s still nice to go old school and send an actual postcard from Disney World.

Amenities will vary slightly between the Value, Moderate, and Deluxe resorts, but all of the above are included with each one. Some may have bigger pools and some may have different modes of transportation. However, they’re all available to make your stay more enjoyable.

BONUS TIP: Consider planning and booking your next Disney trip with an Authorized Disney Vacation Planner you can trust like Mickey Travels. They’ll help you get the best Walt Disney World deal, share expert advice and their services are totally FREE! It’s genius!
